Description
In this 60 min vinyasa, we work on sloooowing down, and strengthening the connection between breath and movement. I take you through a flow that includes familiar poses so we don't get too hung up on them while trying to focus on using our entire inhale or exhale to transition from one pose to another. The key is to slow down and let the transition match your breathing, and not compromising your full lung capacity by taking shorter breaths to get the transition over with. The idea is to embrace the connection between breath and movement so you can further appreciate your body and all it can do!
Sometimes in yoga we rush through the transitions and become engrossed only on the poses-- how "cool" they look, or how flexible we are in them. As an instructor I find that this focus somewhat degrades the practice. We lose hold of what yoga truly is at the core. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE complex poses and making unique shapes with my body!! It's actually what drew me into yoga in the first place. But I feel it is important to go back to basics and remind ourselves that yoga is about breathing, and making that mind/body connection through pranayama, using the asanas to accentuate the experience, not define it.
This is an all levels flow, so everyone is invited to play! However, please keep in mind that I am not there to physically supervise you or help you correct your alignment in person, so please listen to my alignment cues so you can stay safe in your practice. The last thing we want is an injury!
